Jan-Phillipp already packed his Christmas gift box for one of the children attending the day-care at Blumenau in Munich! During his lunch break at the office he went to the supermarket and bought the little presents, a game, sweets and colouring pen.
He also got some nice wrapping paper there.
Then he went to the office’s postal service and got one of the old paper boxes there. Luckily a colleague took some pictures as he packed and wrapped the box.
It was so much fun! Sure the kid unwrapping the gift on Christmas will smile as much as Jan-Phillipp.
Thanks so much to all of you, who packed a box just like him. It may mean the world to one of the children! We hope you had as much fun packing as Jan-Phillipp had!

Das Packen der Weihnachtskartons für die Kita Blumenau in München geht voran

Jan-Phillipp hat seinen Weihnachtsgeschenke-Karton für eines der Kinder, das die Kindertagesstätte Blumenau in München besucht! Während seiner Mittagspause ist er ganz schnell in den Supermarkt in der Nähe seines Büros geflitzt, um die kleinen Geschenke zu besorgen, ein Spiel, ein paar Süßigkeiten und Buntstifte. Da hat er auch noch das herrliche Geschenkpapier mitgenommen. Danach hat er in der Poststelle nachgeschaut, ob noch ein altes Lieferpaket übrig ist und hatte Glück! Zum Glück hat eine Kollegin von ihm schnell ein Bild gemacht als er die Box gepackt und eingewickelt hat. Es sieht jedenfalls nach viel Spaß aus! Das Kind, das das Geschenk an Weihnachten auspacken wird, wird sicher genauso übers ganze Gesicht strahlen, wie Jan-Phillipp!

Danke an alle, die mitmachen und schon einen Karton gepackt haben! Es bedeutet den Kindern sehr viel! Wir hoffen, ihr hattet beim Packen so viel Spaß wie Jan-Phillipp!

We started packing Christmas boxes for the children at the day-care centre in Blumenau, one of our social projects in Munich. We are supporting the kids because many of them migrated to Germany with their families recently. You may be surprised about what they wish for: colouring or exercise books, colour pens or a pencil case, for example. Or a teddy bear… It is so easy to make them smile! The kids will love them! Last time we provided the kids living at Udayan Care with clothes and socks. Lately we had the chance to support them again. This time, Stella supporter Daphne Recker visited them. Not only did she take a couple of great pictures, but also she had the chance to play with the kids and spend time with them in their home environment.

In einer unserer letzten Aktionen versorgten wir die Kinder, die im Udayan Care leben, mit Anziehsachen und Socken. Jetzt hatten wir wieder die Möglichkeit sie zu unterstützen. Unsere Stella-Kollegin Daphne Recker besuchte sie. Sie machte nicht nur klasse Fotos von Ihrem Aufenthalt dort, sondern nutzte die Gelegenheit mit den Kindern zu spielen und etwas Zeit mit Ihnen in Ihrem neuen Zuhause zu verbringen.

The situation in the Himalaya is not an easy one. It is not only freezing, snowy and windy in winter times but it also one of the most remote areas in the world. Harvesting is a challenging, the diversity of nourishment is limited. While being there, I was astonished to what extend humans can adopt to local challenges regarding the harsh environment.

Our boarding school in Leh has been a success story in the last years. More and more students want to learn and spend their time there. The number of scholars is therefore growing from year to year.

This is why we would like to support their efforts in enlarging accommodation possibilities for the children. The team on site has already started to build new homes – have a look at the pictures yourself. It already looks good but is still a lot of work. The financing of the measures is not guaranteed yet. So – also as XMAS is getting close – support us ! No matter how big or small your amount is, your donation is more than welcome. We will transfer the final amount to Leh. Do not forget, our (= Stella) work is on a pro bono basis so that your donation will flow to 100% down to the educational institutions. As we are recognized as a “Gemeinnütziger Verein” by the German government, you can even make your donation being tax advantageous.

…it is incredible how time passes: the kids are growing up so fast. They manage their school days pretty good learning all what is necessary to become a grown up to get new chances in life…maths, english etc. – all that staff that you generally dislike a lot when being a scholar :o) What you can also see in the shots: how it is getting cold in the Himalayas. Temperatures are already falling far below the zero degree line.

Stella Bildung Bewegt e.V. bought multilingual educational books for the Kita Laim to enlarge their library stock. The children of the Kita Laim have different social backgrounds, some of them with a challenging family situation. The books were received with joy by the kids and are currently heavily in use – have a look yourself :o)

We provided our Kita Blumenau with learning games, books and toys. The Kita Blumenau is situated in Munich, in a social challenging area. The majority of the kids going to the Kita belong to families with emigration background. Their parents do mostly not speak German. Successfully passing a German school is a special task for those kids while education is at the same time key for their personal development. Therefore, we are glad that we could support the great efforts of the staff working at the Kita Blumenau with our material. I (Corinna-Rosa) met them in person and their human work is impressive. Like in former years, SIMPACK organized another funny Advent Tournament within the company. The merits of €130 were doubled by the management. The total of €260 will be used for our educational projects. Many thanks – in particular to Martin Schloegl who has been supporting us since years!!!

Yeah – we have managed to provide our partner organization in Leh, Himalayas, exercise books for all 243 children! The booklets – we remember our own school days – help with exams, homework and lession transcripts. They are printed in India, are colourful and the students, following the distribution of the booklets, have been quite happy (see photos). We are pleased that it went so well with the current donation!

Finally, to my Mountain School Leh, wishing you many happy cheerful students and educational hours.

Juche – wir haben es geschafft, unserer Partnerorganisation in Leh, Himalaya, Schreibhefte für alle 243 Kinder zu ermöglichen! Die Hefte – wir erinnern uns an unsere eigene Schulzeit – helfen bei Klausuren, Hausaufgaben und Unterrichtsmitschriften. Udayan Care, unser Strassenkinderheim in Delhi, erhält wärmende Kleidung für mehr als 35 der dort zur Schule gehenden Kinder von Stella Bildung Bewegt e.V. München. Wir freuen uns sehr!

Die Schulkinder leben in dem „Sunshine Home“ und werden von lokalen Kräften betreut. Sie besuchen die indische Schule in Delhi und leben in kleineren Wohneinheiten. Sie teilen sich nicht nur die intensiven Stunden des Lernens sondern auch die Zeit des Vergnügens in der Gruppe.

Udayan Care hat mit nur drei unterstützen Kindern begonnen und betreut heute, 16 Jahre später, mehr als 180 Schüler.

This photo was taken at our partner organization Udayan Care in Delhi/ India last Friday before the start of our Charity Concert with Robert Probst. It shows some of the kids that are living there. They knew about our initiative and were support our event. The proceeds of the night will go into: a) 35 pulls and socks for the pupils and b) the school fee for 10 pupils living in one of the Udayan Care homes.

With the financial support of Stella Bildung Bewegt e.V. our partner organization Udayan Care in Delhi (India) could buy a new set of bed lines. In total, 250 bed sheets and pillow covers for all Udayan children, care givers, volunteers and guest rooms for all the 13 Udayan homes could be bought. The new bed lines are clean and hygienic and provide a healthier environment for the pupils. The Mentor Mother Ms Madhu Gupta has ordered the best quality and durable fabric for bed sheets which were then delivered to the Udayan Care Head Office. A set of bed sheet and a pillow cover has then been distributed to all the caregivers.

We feel happy to have contributed to that change!

Udayan Care (Delhi/ India) is a licensed residential foster home, located in a safe middle-class neighborhood housing up to 14 children per unit. Today, 13 homes are caring for over 190 non-privileged children. The children have demonstrated successful development as a result of receiving highest quality education, physical and emotional care, recreational activities and social skills training. The children are prepared to re-enter the world as productive citizens, when they mature through higher education, vocational training and mental health programmes. The children are cared for by lifetime volunteers know as Mentor Mothers and Fathers, who are responsible for overseeing the homes and, along with their regular caregivers, and professional social workers, they provide the emotional bonding that every child requires for healthy development. Since its inception in 1994, more than 33 Mentors and Fathers are investing countless hours of time, into the wellbeing of each child.

We are currently trying to raise funds for our Mountain School in Leh (Himalaya) where more than 170 pupils are living. Their situation is surely not an easy one, so we want to support them in their daily life. The teachers in Leh told us that their copy and printer machine recently carked. To give school lessons in the cold and high mountain regions (3500m) with limited financial resources was already a challenge, so we have decided to help them – with your support!
